“Beloved ... it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints" (Jude 3).

"Buy the truth, and sell it not; also wisdom, and instruction, and understanding" (Pr 23:23).

We trust that the material presented through this Site, which God has enabled in His grace, will be to His glory and be a blessing to the dear saints of God. Our earnest prayer too, is that those who visit and do not know God will come to do so through faith in His Beloved Son, Jesus Christ. "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me" (Jn 14:6). He also declared, "Him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out" (Jn 6:37). These are sure and blessed assurances to all mankind from the Eternal Son of God.

The “ribband of blue” is mentioned in Numbers 15. Blue is the heavenly colour in Scripture. It adorned the hem of the outer garment of every Israelite as a constant reminder that he belonged to a special and privileged people - a peculiar possession of the God of Heaven. It was, therefore, a mark of separation and obligation to the Israelite before the Lord God of Heaven (Gen 24:7). He was to walk in obedience to God and so bear the fragrance of His heavenly character before the nations.

"And it shall be unto you for a fringe, that ye may look upon it, and remember all the commandments of the LORD, and do them; and that ye seek not after your own heart and your own eyes, after which ye use to go a whoring." (Num 15:39)

As a nation, Israel failed to keep the calling that was demanded by the ribband of blue. As a result it has been set aside until the time of its future Millennial restoration, when Christ, the Sun of Righteousness comes to earth with healing in His wings (Mal 4:2).

God in grace has now brought in the Church, in which the saved Jew and Gentile are together as One New Man in Christ – His Body. We, who are members of His Body, are exhorted to “walk worthy of the vocation wherewith we are called” (Eph 4:1). Accordingly, we are to bear in life the ribband of blue, for we are a heavenly people, those who have been raised up together and made to sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus (Eph 2:6); who have been blessed in “all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Him, “to the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God” (Eph 1:3; Eph 3:10).

In the case of the Israelite, the ribband of blue on their garments complemented the blue head-band of the High Priest, symbolizing the connection between his ministry within the holiest and the ministry of God’s people outside the holiest. However, it is as “holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling,” that we are to “consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus” (Heb 3:1). For our High Priest “is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us” (Heb 9:24).

May we, who have by faith however feeble touched the hem of His garment, consider to His glory with the help of the Spirit of God, the High Priest of our profession who “is the Lord from heaven” (1 Cor 15:47); the One “who God raised up” and set “at his own right hand in the heavenly places” (Eph 1:20).
